A 3D VR simulator developed in Unity engine and programmed in C#. In collaboraton with a peer, I was responsible for programming all game logic (including camera, characters, VR controls and animations) and all asset implementation. A team project, we worked closely with a Designer, two Artists and an Audio developer.
A VR training simulator to teach players the basics of how to work as a barista. The player receives orders of coffees and snacks. This covers the full process of preparing a coffee or tea, specific to the type and variant of drink requested.
At the initial design stage, we integrated the extremely useful VRTK plugin to assist with controllers for common VR functionality such as touch and grabbing. This proved tricky at times, as the documentation was not always clear. However, the base functionality allowed us to focus our efforts on including all other features like ordering and customer queueing within a short space of time.
Due to experience from previous projects of working closely with an Audio designer peer, I integrated the Audiokinetic middleware Wwise into the project early on. This helped bring the experience to life from a very early stage and through regular testing really helped to inform a number of design decisions in regards to player signposting. I even had the opportunity to voice some customer mumbles!
